About The Fund

What is the TIA Investment Fund?

The TIA Investment Fund is a student-managed portfolio that provides hands-on experience in equity research, financial modeling, portfolio management, and investment decision-making.

Student analysts are organized into sector teams covering Technology, Financials, Consumer Discretionary, and Communication Serivces. Each team is responsible for generating investment ideas and monitoring existing holdings within their sector.

The fund operates under the oversight of a faculty advisor and follows a formal investment process modeled after professional asset management firms.

Meet the Leadership Team

Founder
Jared Getzler
Founder

Jared is a co-founder of the TIA Investment Fund and served as its inaugural Portfolio Manager. In that role, he oversaw portfolio management, position sizing, and the fund's long-term strategic direction. He now serves the fund in an advisory capacity, bringing his ongoing industry experience back to the organization he helped establish.

Currently, Jared is an Analyst at Halifax West, where he focuses on buy-side M&A and debt advisory transactions for independent sponsors and founder-led businesses.

Prior to Halifax West, Jared interned at Simon Quick Advisors, an RIA managing over $7B in assets. During his time at Simon Quick, Jared conducted due diligence on hedge funds, private equity, and alternative credit managers.

Jared holds a BBA in Finance from Florida Atlantic University.

Reid Robertson
Portfolio Manager

Reid is a junior at FAU, studying economics. He currently works in Investor Relations and will soon transition into asset management. He holds both SIE and Series 65 certifications.

Associate Portfolio Manager
Mikayal Faisal
Associate Portfolio Manager

Mikayal currently serves as the Associate Portfolio Manager of the fund, where he oversees portfolio asset allocation, performance reporting, capital raising initiatives, and cross-sector coordination. Previously, he served as the fund’s inaugural Senior Head of the Consumer Discretionary/Staples sector, leading a team of analysts in developing equity valuations, financial reports, and financial models based on company earnings and regulatory filings.

In addition to his role with the fund, Faisal currently works as an Investment Banking Intern and Securities Analyst at Kingswood Group. He previously served as a Broker and Money Manager at Pinnacle Investments, where he also helped co-found a financial advisory and consulting initiative focused on providing guidance and financial education to underserved and low-income individuals.

Faisal is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Data Analytics at Florida Atlantic University.

Requirements

Who Can Apply?

We welcome applications from dedicated students who meet the following criteria.

  • Active TIA member in good standing
  • Completed at least one semester with TIA
  • Strong interest in equity investing
  • Ability to commit 5-8 hours per week
  • Demonstrated analytical and communication skills
